Holiday Time – Take a Knee

How many of us turn the holidays into the horridays?  So many of my friends, mostly women, wear themselves to a frazzle trying to do, buy, bake, decorate, entertain and on and on an on. In a supposedly “season of joy”, where is the joy in that? Everyone is so busy decorating, no one has time to enjoy another’s contribution. We surreptitiously study our watches whether we’re guests at another’s house or hosted them in our own. “Hurry and end”, there is so much more to do.  My message is “slow down”. Take a knee, thirty minutes today, sixty minutes tomorrow. Read to your kids, write to someone who’s alone. Sip tea. Look at your neighbors’ decorations. And with heartfelt wishes, I say “Happy, Safe, Peaceful holidays.”
